Any mines we found west of Eldorado Rd. I didn't catch all the names. Nice place, but it was crowded even for a weekday. Also, just driving through the area we could see the mines might be unsafe because of all the gypsum. Almost all of the mines we were in had collapses or showed signs of imminent collapse.
Normally, I dislike seeing sealed mines, but in the instance of the ones we saw west of Nelson sealing them might be better. There are also active mines nearby. Some were just in the next valley over. We were inside a mine when we heard the blast horns nearby. Seconds later, we heard and felt the blast. A little dust in the mine we were in, but no collapse. Blasting cracks the rock. They'll all eventually collapse. It's just not a safe area for exploring.
Also, be careful out there. It's time for the snakes to come out of their holes.
