I was thinking about doing a run up to Zion next Saturday if anyone wants to go. We generally stop @ Texas Roadhouse for lunch, then head up to Zion for a few hours. April 1st they start running the buses again for the summer, so this will be the last time that you can drive up there until fall time.

I will not be sporting the Jeep on this trip. something about 45mpg compared to 16mpg...

They don't use a sniffer for anything 96 and newer. If there is any check engine code it will fail. If you clear the codes and smog it without the computer resetting after so many miles you will fail because there will be no information from the smog machine to read.

since they hook up to the obd port, do they still sniff the exhaust. I have not had to smog a car here yet. The wife smogged the old TJ and it passed, so I did not ask any questions.

Pre-OBDII vehicles still get sniffed, don't they?

Yes...but was that the question? I am assuming he is referring to his JK.

I am assuming that the obd2 does not require the sniffer is because they are required to have an o2 sensor before and after the cat.

So I have been bought a few things from autoanything.com. They offer free shipping on a bunch of stuff and they are in so cal, so you get fast shipping without paying taxes.

I am still on the fence if I like this or not, but it is great from the business side. I believe when I created my account, they recorded my IP address and they monitor all of the traffic to their site. Ever since I ordered the first thing, I get emails from them all the time. For example I looked at the prices of a few winches recently... then I get an email shortly afterwards asking if I am still interested or have any questions about the winch I was just looking at. I seriously hope porn sites don't start doing this... Greg do you want to watch the apple and orange clip again. haha

Nope they will not sniff an obd2 equipped car. Everything is controlled and monitored through that system. You would think making it easier to do would make it cheaper, but you would be wrong.

Oh my Bhudda! All this emission control talk got me thinking about gutting my catalytic. Not that I would. I just read others were doing and wanted to see what it was about. Went to YouTube, searched "gutting cat" and came up with this sick bych. If you're at all sensitive, do NOT watch.
