I have the MTR's(Guard Dogs) and they are a great solid tire. More of an aggressive A/T. They were a bit loud at first but have quieted down considerably. They still him nicely though. Maybe look at the General Grabbers. Before I got the TW's I was going to get those. They were the least expensive tire I could find that had a good reputation.
Same here, I lived mine for the 2 weeks they were on the jeep. Not too loud just a hum.

Almost hit this idiot pulling into a parking spot the other day. I slammed on the brakes and he just stared at me with his mouth hanging open. When he walked off I noticed the the back of his shirt read " You can't fix stupid". Then he got into a 97-98 Camaro with his mullet and sped off lol. Turns out he was standing in that spot staring at a newer Camaro lol
I seriously just don't see that much money into that thing. I'd think you could buy a chassis and all the parts and bolt one together for cheaper brand new. Those BFG projects aren't very good in the rocks either!
We need to have a top swap weekend drive around to everyone house and help each other take the hard tops off and put the soft tops on....oh and dont worry doc I have a sawzall tarp and some twine to do yours
LOL Boredom is not an issue with me! Although I will admit... At this moment i've got laundry going and I'm sipping a mimosa. But I also changed oil in my truck this afternoon and dealt with some in car camera issues on it. Swept up the house and cleaned my bathroom too. Here in a few I'm going to go and drop off used oil and then come back and pick up the dog to take him to the park to run his *** around a bit.
Had to sweep and clean the bathroom cause even at 34y/o I still will do whatever I can to avoid the wrath from mommy in my own house!!! LOL
My parents are rolling into town tomorrow for about 4-5 weeks and on the list is to put my bathroom back together even better then before and probably landscape the front yard which essentially means a crap load of shovel work! I also need to replace two whirlybirds on the roof of the house but that should be pretty quick and easy. Just need to go buy them. Also while they're here my Dad wants me to help him change fork oil in his harley and install some fork valving I got him for xmas.
In between that I still need to dial my pinion angle in a bit on the jeep cause I'm still not satisfied with it and I'm going to get my dad to help me pull the hard top off it too.
