You can start by clicking your heels together 3 times, then doing a backwards summersalt while whistling yankee doodle dandy, then post a video of it to youtube.

If we accept your initiation you will be allowed to come on a trip, and if you do so, you must bring me a 12 pack of beer. Your training will then be complete.

Bootleg Canyon run 10/17?

Did a night run last Friday to Bootleg Canyon in Boulder City with the meetup.com group- Las Vegas Off Road. First time I've done that trail. Want to do it again in the daytime. I'm planning a return trip on Sunday 10/17. Anyone interested?
Fun easy run close to home. Great view of the lake and of Vegas. Two major obsticles-big hill climb at beginning and v-notch near the end, both with bypasses. V-notch reqires at least one locker.
Here is a link to the pic's.

Looks like it was a great run, somehow I missed that today was the trip! Dang, I went camping up at mt. charleston for the night. I probably would have been down to go, especially since thats on my side of town.

Still gotta get my engine noise figured out though.

It's looking like VegasMatt and myself will be sitting this one out. I was planning on riding up with him since I doubt the beast's ability to conquer Logandale.

However, his clutch is out on the jeep, and I'll be working on getting that replaced with him on the 23rd. Cant wheel it if ya cant shift!

Have a good trip guys! I wanna see those pics!

Just fyi!!!

The October 23rd run is a go. We can do the rock bottom trail or the bowl trail, depending on what kind of rigs show up. (Or both???) Anyways, we'll start off with "confidence hill" (just what I call it-dont know the name of it) which is only a few hundred yards long and not difficult at all. After that, we'll figure out what we want to do.

Meet up: Petrol Stop gas station on the I-15 near the Nascar speedway
Time: 730 AM. We'll be rolling out at 8AM
Trail difficulty: A solid 3-4 out of 5. Some lift needed, locker would be nice. A stock Rubi would make it.
Duration: Probably an all day affair. We'd be back in Vegas by 4 or so.
Note: Bring a cooler with water, gatorade, etc. (Please, no alcohol)

I dont have the most up to date list of INs and OUTs, but people usually show up without posting or drop out because of sleeping in.

Ill bring my crappy camera to take pics.

The Petro truck stop is off of the Las Vegas Motor Speedway exit of I-15

Man, looks like a blast! I miss that place. Always loved that run in my old TJ.

Looks like you guys had a great time.

It took VegasMatt and I the better part of the day, but we got the tranny out, clutch replaced, and tranny back in. He's back in business!

Now, onto working on the best!

keep me and this tread updated on any other runs, I'm down for some less technical stuff in my ri, but glad to ride along with anyone else on the heavy duty runs
