It's a great area. We have been going up there over 8 years now. A couple years ago I got tired of pulling our toy hauler up there so we have been kicking around the idea for a while. With the market the way it is we decided to jump on it. Took longer than expected but it worked out great.
You donít buy it you build it!!
Adam, the cabin looks awesome. We cannot wait until the boss lady gets out of the military and we can find someplace to settle down for sure. She keeps on pushing for New England, but I want something west coast or in the Rockies. only time will tell.
Well knock that off the list! Tcase modified and back in. Only lost one day on that mod... Would've been a million times easier with snap ring pliers that worked decent and a manual or just a tiny list of notes from experience would've cut a lot of time too.
oh ijust got some news from my dad that he is buying a 1980 k5 blazer. he is offering it to me for $1500 if his dad does not pick it up. best thing is if i do get it, il have something to hit the trails with but, its not a Jeep. I'll trade it when i find what i want.
Well, tonight's goal is to cut off exhaust hanger, modify transmission mounts and hopefully get the skidplate mounted up and then the exhaust hanger relocated. If I can get the skidplate buttoned up tonight that'll be really nice cause that just leaves installing the center console and shifter, wire up a couple sensors that need some splicing and setting the rear pinion angle after swapping out the 2 upper control arms. Getting closer!!! Might have it drivable by the end of the weekend!
I drove by prestige yesterday and out front they had a crush orange JKU with painted flares and hardtop. I almost puked when I saw it. It was orange, I bet that it would look awesome on some gold or chrome 26's parked over on the east side!!
There's a JK at Adam's driveshaft getting some work done right now that I can't imagine the cost on!!! Just a quick walk around. Had aftermarket axles front and rear, hemi conversion, 37" goodyear mtr on walker even beadlocks, front end was sitting on king coilovers & bypass shocks, rear suspension had an entire tubular subframe welded up underneath it with king coilovers mounted horizontal (mezzanine type suspension), aftermarket bumpers, etc...
When I'm bored, which is often, I look through old posts. First thing I noticed. I'm half a baby step short of obnoxious sometimes.
AlixReid is no longer with us. There are quotes that no longer match.
Still not sure who covered my membership. I just noticed my name is red last night and I got the message from admin thanking me for the upgrade. Would whoever it was please step forward so I may properly thank you?
The thing with the super 35 kit is I'm looking at $1070 from quad for the axles and locker. I sometimes get a decent discount off that. Ford 8.8, I don't think I have connection on pricing so I've got retail.
I'm pulling the following prices quickly off google, I'm sure I can shop for better pricing when it comes time.
Ford 8.8 I'm looking at $100 for the axle pulled out of the pick-a-part. (did this about a year ago with a friend)
Bracket Mounting Kit ($250)
4.56 gears ($215 Summit)
Detroit Locker ($650 Summit, chose detroit to keep it apples to apples)
Conversion pinion flange or u-joint? ($ ??? probably pretty cheap though)
Plus my labor, cuss words, headache of the install.
Labor to install the gears is a wash cause gears would have to be reset on my D35 with the super install anyways.
Khris if you go 8.8, I may have some spare stuff laying around. Also hit me up 1st for gears/lockers install ect..I have some hookups. I wish I knew you were wanting an axle upgrade. I am selling my 8.8 and it's fully decked out! Currently it's spoken for but if they back out I'll let you know.
For sure let me know! I'm not totally ready for it right now but depending on what it is and the deal if the person backs out I'd possibly still jump on it and figure out how to pay bills after the fact! LOL
I'm assuming your friend is still in for my tranmission? Hoping to basically have everything buttoned up and basically the pile of misc. stuff that didn't go back in the jeep ready to go by the end of this weekend. (shifter cables, shifter, cooler lines, brackets, trans itself, flywheel, T/C, etc...) I'm still planning on heading to KOH so I can haul it out there or get it to you pretty much anytime, whichever is easiest.
