We are pcsing to Spangdahlem in April and I was looking at learning German... but a bunch of guys that I know said not to bother. Most of the Germans refuse to speak it once they find out that you speak English.

Didn't watch enough Top Gear obviously before the move!

I'm wondering wha this fancy rig is for. 4x4 with a big ole winch and bumpers. Looks like it has flashy emergency type lights all around the box. US Government plates. Spares on the back, big antennas....

Probably something "secret" since it doesn't have any markings for the agency it belongs to. Who knows what you saw before they erased your memory.....

Have spent some quality time with a bunch of EUCOM folks and I don't think a single one of them speaks German so I assume they get along fine without. London has been great and all but if I had my choice I would have preferred Germany. I've heard Spang is pretty cool.

Seriously.. I wonder what some people are thinking when they attempt to pull stunts like that. Glad they were okay, but dang. It would be interesting to see what line they were taking and direction they were traveling.
