With removable top and doors the only thing that I would need a hole saw for is a snorkel.

I can think of MANY other things you'd need those tools for on a jeep! Control arm pivots, motor mounts, holes for cage work to pass thru, etc... Snorkel? Where do you live again?

Oh, don't get me wrong. If I'm working on someone else's rig, I'll bust out the skilsaw and go to town! Mine needs a little more surgical planning. Lol
Those LS swaps are looking quite enticing. $3500 for a big, efficient V8, or $3500 for a light, heat creating turbo?! Hmmm....

The difference between stupidity and ignorance. Ignorance is doing something wrong and not knowing better. Stupidity is knowing better, but doing it anyway. Don't be stupid!

I think the weight difference between an LS and a 4.0 aren't really that big of a deal. I would think LS all day long just due to the aftermarket support and the power potential. IMHO putting a turbo on a 4.0 makes no sense to me. To each their own.

5.3 is all anyone would ever need in a Jeep. The ONLY reason I really got the LS2 is because I have an infatuation with aluminum/light weight so I made up my mind I wanted an engine with an aluminum block and heads. I now have an engine 100lbs lighter than the 4.0 and about 4 times the HP ....I would have went an L33 (all aluminum 5.3), but they weren't made except a few years and there is not a lot in common with them and the other LS series engines. If I had to do it all over again, I would have chosen the 5.3 and put the extra $2500 elsewhere! Yes...I could have bought 2 RTR 5.3's for the price of the LS2.

That sucks! I don't know why they would only steal the keys but at least the Jeep is still there!

BTW, what part of town did you all end up in? My genius wife leaves her purse and keys in the unlocked truck all the time and no one has yet to mess with it.

yeah…I like the idea of an LS, but wanna keep the 6 speed! I know there are threads about it, but generally speaking, how much modifying is required to make everything work? At the minimum, time/money?

Mmmmmm the 6 speed is sexy. You definitely need to do an LS swap, then we can discuss a new home for that 6 speed.....
