Dang Powr, sorry to hear the bad news. On the bright side when I go I would rather be on vacation with family and friends than behind a desk at work.

If you guys need anything please just let us know.

Need more info...plus, it's an XJ! They're notorious for cooling issues. If its just dripping after running with a full reservoir, I wouldn't worry much, but if it floods out, there's an issue.

Thanks again everyone for the thoughts an prayers. It's been rough. Sometimes I'm good, and other times, I'm a mess.

water pump, head gasket, clogged radiator, stuck thermostat, bad fan.

There are tons of things that could cause it, you just have to start the trouble shooting process or find someone that can physically look at it and point you in the right direction.

That's exactly what I've told my dad. She was in a beautiful place with all the people she loved most. She wasn't home alone, or someplace unpleasant. She was having a great time and was happy when it happened. I thank god for that and am glad she was able to enjoy her last days with us.

Yep. I start Tuesday at a place off of Gibson and Horizon Ridge. It seems to be a pretty nice place to work once you get over the nasty green carpet. But I do have a pretty good view of the valley and strip from my office.

Sorry to hear powr. If there is anything I can do as well let me know.

The xj over heating can be literally 100 things. I think 88 had a closed cooling system as long as it is still stock. It could be An issue of not burping the system. A lot of people don't like the closed system but it cools just fine if you properly service it just like any other system.

You probably have a closed cooling system. They suck. It might be the radiator, pump, thermostat.

Glad to see that you are keeping it as positive as you can.

Heck if any of my parents kick the bucket they are cross country and I have not seen my dad in almost a year and a few months since I saw my mom.

I just handled this issue on a 89 my friend bought. All of the things listed above could be the issue but the most likely culprit is number 1 the thermostat or number 2 the water pump. I just did both on my friend's for $50 bucks in parts and a few hours of work. I'd start there and see if it solves the problem.

If cost and/or time is an issue I'd start with the thermostat and if that doesn't fix it then the water pump. I've helped with two XJ's now with this issue and in both the water pump ended up solving it.

Is that like next door to timbers or right there somewhere? The place that has like a whole menu of half priced sushi?

Powr, really sorry to hear about your Mom. It is good that she went while enjoying herself and with her family around. Remember the happy times that you had with her.
