The stock balancer will work good. Is your distributor 180 out? Or with the balancer moving the timing marks do you just have it advanced way too far?

The advance was way to far. I'm embarrassed how long it took me to figure it out. I took the distributor out 3 times and reinstalled it. I checked plugs and wires like 10 times. Ripping my hair out when my dad shows up and looks at it and says "balancer is worn out and isn't showing the correct timing". We got it to run decent but I would hate to be driving the day it lets go.

I really miss driving that old truck. But it is going to need a lot more work. When the weather is nice I plan on taking the bed off because there is a bracket that has broken off that need welded up, then all new mounting hardware for the bed and eventually the cab.

I had the same problem with my old camaro. I rebuilt the whole motor and couldn't get it timed worth a crap. Come to find out after a while the "newer" balancer was off buy a lot. I got my *** handed to me by a chevelle because of it lol. I heard good things about the liquid filled ones. They are suppose to really take out the vibes. But mine was balanced so it didn't have any.[

weekend project plan:

In this color combo:

If you've driven old cars you know how they have the pencil thin steering wheels. I have an el cheapo cover on mine to give it some girth right now but its ripped and ghetto. This should look cool and give it a nice positive feel too.

Hey Raptor, thanks for the heads up on that position. I have an interview this week. Hopefully I do not bomb it too bad.

Ran a little test to see how this would feel in the hand. It's awesome.

Can't wait until the real colors get here. It should match the jeep perfect

Looks good. I sure do hope that it does not interfere with the radio controls or cruise control on your steering wheel.
