I figured since the other thread started out as talking about making a club, and what clubs are available, we should have a thread that's just dedicated to setting up trail runs.
The title says it all, and it'll be less cluttered.
So, the 9/18/10 Run to Potato Ridge was a success!
Next item on the schedule is Logandale on 10/23/10 according to McRoberts. Seems like we have a few interested parties! Who all is planning to attend?
If there is anything in the meantime, or someone local wants another rig to ride with them, just post up and see if anyone is available!
Cause I'm pretty sure there's virtually nothing that's salvageable inside it. About the only thing I'm guessing that may not be replaced is the drivers side head. If that ends up being the case... Might as well just replace the whole thing. I'm pretty sure the rod snapped too cause it was no where to be seen and I'm gonna go out on a limb here and say that a rod/piston combo getting tossed thru the bottom end is likely to mess it up pretty good. I'm going to tear it down eventually but I'm not exactly holding my breath.
No clue what caused the failure. Something related to it running...
It's been a few years since I have
been(2010). It's not a bad place. I have an uncle that has lived there for 40+ years. Plenty to do outdoors. Not sure what the job market is like though.

Luckily I can work form anywhere for my current job and I did a quick search for software developers there. I saw a few pages of jobs, so I guess that is good enough for me.
With my current job I do not get paid any different where I live... So I could barely get by in Denver, or do well in Spokane. It is all still up in the air though.
My wife and I were seriously considering moving to Seattle, but got turned off to it the more I researched it. It's very liberal and the locals don't like outsiders much.
We have looked at Spokane, but not sure how the economy and job markets are. In your case, you should be fine because of your career. It does get a bit o snow and cold weather, which I didn't particularly care for. I don't mind a little snow, but a lot of ice an snow would be no fun for us.
You need to consider what the school districts are going to be like a well.

It is funny when you are looking to move and you have no real roots anywhere that you want to stay. These three maps have really helped influence where I want to go.
I have still not counted out Colorado, but from a outdoors point of view and stuff to keep me busy when I am single, Spokane is looking good. I will probably end up renting at first to make sure that I like it.
Gonna fly out to VA next month and hang out with some old friends for a month or so. I need some "me time" and the wife needs to see how she will do with the kids alone.
sorry to bring this BS here... just the only place that I can really bs about it without involving mutual friends or family.
You never know, I could always end up renting out Khris' room for a while and helping him with that gernaded motor. Seems that he has a better single life than Andy!!

I can say that all of us here would not mind if you moved back to Vegas. I enjoyed wheelin' and hanging out with you, and would continue to hang out if you did come back.

What are you talking about?!?! Yeah WA (not just Seattle) is liberal but it's not that bad to be honest. There is no gun registration for anything and you can own just about anything you can here.
Seattle people don't give a hoot where your from just don't act like an arse. But it's the same as here as how we talk crap about California people and TBH none of us really care that they are here, we just complain. Western WA is amazing, there are loads to do and so much culture.
Spokane is the armpit of WA, it gets just as hot as Vegas does and then it gets below 0* in the winter same scenery as Vegas but with a few more trees and rain. Been there myself and have family that live there. That is a truly nasty place to live.
If your looking for a programmer job Western WA is your place way more options. Prices between Vegas and Seattle are about equal for everyday items. You will be paying for parking more but most companies in downtown Seattle pay for your meters. Seattle's tax is 10% everywhere else is lower. If you were to move up there look into a house from Lakewood all the way up to Burien area. Or of course north of Downtown Seattle itself.
There is something especially awesome about being able to legally walk out the back door and send a few rounds down range! My uncle has a small clearing on his property behind his house. Spent the weekend selling, buying, shooting, and working on guns. When we felt like we were getting a little bored, we would just get off the couch, walk to the garage, then to the back yard and shoot at the targets he has set up. Will definitely be going down there a bit more often!
Not interested in supporting you in any way. I'd have thought that was pretty evident by now. It'll likely be given to one of the metal fairys unless an actual friend is interested in it and in that case I'd likely give it away free.
Not sure, My gut feeling, valve simply stuck from sitting so long and went downhill from there. I was thinking about it over the weekend. I think I'm going to have to drop the pan and pull that rod or whatever's left of it just so that I can get it to turn over so that I can unbolt the tq convertor from the flex plate to get it loose from the transmission. Not sure how else to gain access to those bolts if the engine won't turn.
No on the exhaust, it let go when I fired it to back it off the trailer. Ran for 5-10 seconds max before it's current situation.

I think I embrace it more where Andy tries to not be single. That's just my thoughts, not totally sure, don't get offended Andy...
I can't complain too much... Toys are fun. Stupid goofy dog grows on you kinda. As long as you're cool with getting kicked out on the occasional evening when this blond is around. This was from the other night at the pw/br/offspring show. I currently have it just down to her, although there was a brunette last monday too so...
I've decided Minnesota on labor day weekend is definitely the time to go. This makes 2 trips that weekend with zero bug spray and not a single mosquito bite. On top of that, easy temps to deal with. Tshirt and shorts most of the weekend with the occasional hoodie. Went to the mud bog races today. Fun stuff! Got my years share of redneck for sure! Oh and you betch ya's were flowing excessively by the locals to the point it was hard to keep a straight face!
anyone bored any afternoons/evenings this week other then wed? Will repay with future ride in vehicle of choice once up and running. (believe it or not... Both really should be relatively quick. Waiting on Jason to make his move for the axle and I'll know my game plan shortly after getting mine in the garage hopefully this week and pull the trigger most likely on whatever I need asap. I mean unless you wanna just get creepy and go for a ride in the van or crawl in a goofy ford or cruise around 2 dudes in a mustang. All those options are open right now but I'm guessing none of you want that option. LOL)
Need help getting my paper weight off the trailer and pushed in the garage. Last time it took two of us about 15-20 minutes using the race truck as a push vehicle which I should be able to do again still. I'm usually home by 4ish and any afternoon would work except Wed at this point. Just need to shuffle some vehicles around and pull it out of the sideyard. I think I'm gonna have a few weeks of downtime or at least a week or so of it before I need to get Jason's rear axle out so I figure I can probably have the engine pulled in that time and on a stand and then push the paper weight back out and get going on Jasons while I'm figuring a game plan on mine.
