Would anyone be seriously interested in joining us for the rubicon trail run at the end of August? The tentative plan is to start the trail from the Tahoe side on thursday, Aug. 22, camp somewhere along the trail thursday night, and maybe even friday night. End the trail either friday, or saturday(if we dont camp friday night.) We will be near Tahoe camping with my parents the entire week previous to thursday. After the trail, my wife and I will be making a break for the coast via sacramento, to San Fran, over the bridge, camps somewhere, then down PCH to pismo beach to camp there as well. then to san diego to visit andy's family at the zoo(poo flinging monkeys) and back to vegas by the following saturday. I know two weeks is a bit tough to get set for a lot of people, but the trail trip could be run from vegas to vegas in a week. let me know if anyone is serious about going. It would be cool to have someone familiar join us for it, otherwise, we'll be running it solo. I know its a well traveled trail, so im not worried about being stuck without help, but want someone I know to be there too.

Is there a local club that would be a good fit? Thanks!
Nevada Backroaders does most of their runs on trails like that. There is also a wrangler group sponsored by Chapman on Meetup.com that fits that description.

I've aired down and wheeled the Rubicon with 6psi and no beadlocks and not popped a bead. Guess I am not as extreme as Garza

Either works for me honestly. I'm about 5 minutes from Andrew's house. Mtn vista and Harmon basically. Right now I have no plans tomorrow evening and even if I end up with some it shouldn't take long. If it's not supposed to be windy we could do it then. If it's supposed to be windy we could hold off till Sat morning and hope it's calm earlier in the day. I've gotta do it kind in the entry to my garage cause the race truck isn't mobile to move right now and it's taking up the whole floor space. Great excuse to not do anything major work wise when it's sitting like it is!

Reserve a spot on Pismo beach ahead of time also, it's limited beach camping and I doubt it'll sell out but better safe then sorry, especially if you're getting towards labor day weekend which it sounds like you may be.

Also, personally... You're nuts doing the rubicon solo! Just saying... I'll try and bring in some photos to scan or at the very least I'll try to hunt them up and you can swing by and check them out. Not saying it's not possible cause it totally is but I wouldn't be comfy doing it solo that's for sure!

Ugh, once again, what to do for lunch! I'm hungry too this time and tired so decision making isn't really legit today. 4 hours of sleep again is lame!

I'm not entirely comfy running it solo either. I know it's a busy enough trail that there will be others coming through in case we run into something we need help on/with, but was hoping to talk one of you all into going with.

It looks like wind tomorrow afternoon, so I'll bring it over Saturday morning. Have a preference as to time? My new pup will have me up by 5am, so I don't care what time we start. I'll PM you my number. Thanks!

My dog will likely have me up at 6:30AM and assuming I don't do anything dumb tomorrow night on a whim pretty much anytime after probably like 7ish works. Shoot me a text or something in the morning or even friday night actually to confirm if you want? What kind of dog? I'd say bring it if you think it will do fine around a larger dog? mine is super friendly and playful around other dogs, even on my property, he's not protective or anything like that. He's just on the LARGE size though...
