Yeah, I've never really figured out what he's dragging. I thought shock too but he's going way too fast on the whoops leading up to it to be running with a busted shock. Thought exhaust but it just doesn't look like it. Track bar but it's leaf sprung rear... What else would be back there?

I can tell you first hand that if you have well valved shocks, and a limit strap still in place that you can still HAUL BUTT without even knowing you've broken your main leaf. This is my head in the passenger seat here and if you look close behind the rear wheel, that's about a foot of the main leaf sticking out the back still attached to the shackle. hahahah!!!! We passed like 5 jeepspeeds from the point that picture was taken to where we finally pulled over and broke. Best part is, we didn't pull over cause of the leaf, we pulled over cause the harmonic balancer exploded. While waiting for our chase guys to bring parts we noticed the leaf spring.

Merrick's seen that jeep in person once, it's a badass ride!!! I think he even just sold it to a lead I passed his way and the best part is he might still get to drive it on occasion in races!

It almost looks like a fuel cell filler hose, but why would it be back there or that low. What spare part could it be that just came loose during the run? Maybe a think tie down strap, but that would be similar to a limit strap.

To me, it screams broken shocks but that thing is handling way too good to be missing a shock. Jeepspeeds usually have the cell flush mounted to the floor and the filler is usually sticking out the back of the cab.

Okay, I had to know, sent a text to the owner of the white one above cause I know he knows the owner of the one that launched. He says it was the strap for the spare tire hanging out the back.

haha, so many of you locals may be able to answer this... does the heat here cause batteries to leak?

I have never had old batteries leak before. I checked all of my flashlights and half of them have leaking batteries. To top it off they are not that old and are generally either Duracell or Energizer. I had to beat the crap out of my mag light to get them out because they swelled up. I just check even my kids little walkie talkie had one of its AAA batteries leaking.

Yes, the extreme heat causes the batteries to swell up and break open. Best keep those batteries indoors, I remember the first time I heard about people living in other states that kept flashlights in their garages, cars, etc. and wondering how in the world they hadn't figured out they couldnt do that and have a working flashlight.

yep, its a Vegas thing
