Speaking from experience of living all over the place over the years, each city is only what you make it and life it too short to stay somewhere that does not make you happy.

I have roughly 5 years left until I can move where I want to.

I like Vegas better then San Diego, Arcata Ca, and Prescott Az... Next on my list would be Boise Id or somewhere possibly South or Eastern Oregon but I don't foresee myself leaving here anytime soon. The stupidity of living here is partially what entertains me so much.

I hear ya.

Until very recently I was mostly okay with being here, but I've just become disenchanted with everything. I loved living here for a long time because of what the city offers, but at the same time, i'm over it. Time to form an exit strategy with the woman.

Starting to plan trips already to places we'd like to move. Going to look around more in Willamette this weekend. I can find work wherever I'm sure, she'd be set for life in an area like that.

Every time I think I want to leave I go else where and find LV suits me best. If i could move to ME or VT and be able to make a living (and convince my wife) I would go there. I know this helps Marn in no way because he's from that side of the country.

My old neighbors just moved to Bend, Or and they love it up there.

We have not really decided on where we want to settle down at. Vegas is nice because you have plenty of options esp with it being a vacation town and how much we have within a days drive. I am not a huge fan of the summers here though.

Ive driven through Willamette pass before in a 2wd truck towing a 4wd jeep in the winter... and it sucked.

Me and the wife want to move up to Seattle area and just get out of Vegas as It's not a place to raise kids. Seattle has so much more culture, refinement and the ocean. I missed the ocean the most, the salt smell and the 4 seasons.
