Stop being a tightwad. You should get the flex-a-lite set up that they used in the latest issue of JP. http://automotive.flex-a-lite.com/di...-cherokee.html

What he said! I was thinking this before I got to his post. It's your best bet to not have to deal with it again. Save up and do it. It's THE best/smartest way to go for your application.

I'd get a brand new stock one FROM Chrysler for around $275.

I would agree the flex-a-fit would be a great set up, but it is always easy to tell someone how to spend their money. $1000 for a sweet set up is a little pricy for something that needs to get fixed ASAP. I've had my fair share of overheating cars. It blows. Spending 5x more for a performance set up when an aftermarket part would work just fine, seems a little crazy to me.

I don't remember what year xj you have Jared. It might be worth trying the Taurus fan upgrade to a new radiator.

other people's money is the best kind to spend!!!

Yes it is expensive, but when you look at the added cooling capacity, the triple electric fans w/controller. It really is not that bad.

Especially when you factor in the peace of mind, and not having to deal with it again in the future.

Anyone need a mild to moderately dented TJ OEM gas tank skid? It's taking up space at the house and I don't wanna throw it in the trash.

A new radiator with the Taurus e-fan upgrade would give just as much piece of mind for 1/3 the price.

That's a pretty nice setup, only $800 on Amazon! But that's a lot....

99, I've thought about the Taurus fan, but eventually I'd like to upgrade to triple electric.

$800 is way more doable. Esp by the time that you throw in the triple fan with the controller. Unlike just using a relay, with the controller the fans can come on at variable speeds.
