Valve seals are pretty easy. You just need a way to put air pressure in the cylinder to hold the valves up. Ten you just remove the spring using a compressing tool and replace the valve seal. With a larger motor you should have have an issue, but you might want to make sure that the motor cannot turn over during the process.

So did he rebuild both heads or just one? How has it been running aside from you noticing that smoke? If everything is running good aside from the smoke, I would hit it with some sea foam. There should be plenty of threads about it, it is fairly easy. Then from there I would consider running a thicker oil if the problem is still there.

He had the machine shop rebuild both heads with new seals valves and the whole 9 yards.

To be honest the jeep runs perfect. No knocks, ticks or whatever you think.

A mechanic at work drove it and he said it sounds really good for the mileage.

I would not even worry about it too much. Just keep up with the regular maintenance and watch to make sure that it does not get too bad

Yeah its mainly a "look" factor. As to me its a trashy thing to have it happen haha

I was actually thinking that if I do ill get a new engine from Jasper Engine's.

They quoted me 2600$ for EVERYTHING basically just swap it in and turn it on. Ive heard nothing but good things from Jasper myself.

Umm 2600 for something worth 2500 just doesn't feel right. I would run it and sell it for 1k when it goes or sell it now and buy a lower mile jeep.
That's me though I go through cars like crazy lol

I would sell it if I could but when I bought it up in seattle the dealer never sent me the title. So im fighting WA state to get me a title sent over.

Its registered in my name here but NV dmv said I couldnt sell it without getting the title sent over.

Or the cheaper route would be to get a used motor from LKQ and run that. Im sure I could find a somewhat low mileagd motor there for under 1000$.

Spend 5 bucks on some sea foam. You will be surprised, then try some thicker oil. Way cheaper than 2500 and easy enough to do.

Gear oil! Rofl!

The difference between stupidity and ignorance. Ignorance is doing something wrong and not knowing better. Stupidity is knowing better, but doing it anyway. Don't be stupid!
