All it takes is practice. I'm no expert either but I have burned in a thing or two but nothing that I would trust my life with. If I ever get anywhere with the jeep I would much rather pay some one to weld stiffeners and mounts then trust my own welds.

You should ask for a threesome and see how that turns out. Just make sure to ask the wife and not the nanny.

i welded the shock tab on my jeep, which promptly broke.

then a guy at the muffler shop welded my shock tab, and it broke.

then Khris welded my shock tab, and it broke.

Then Khris WELDED my shock tab, and it has stayed put

i also welded the gas tank hanger bracket back under the jeep, and that one still seems good and strong. it was alot easier to get at tho.

Flux core should do better then that for sure! Either a set up issue, prep or technique. Honestly, I'll bet it was one of the first two. Were you trying to burn thru the paint? Is it your welder? If so, I'll swing by and see what you've got going on. Probably will take like 5 minutes to get you about 1000% better.

Oh and yeah, I don't foresee the boobies in my friday night plans again this week. I can punch them on Sat night if I want, no biggie...

If someone links a video from fb on a forum, is there a way to get the URL for it. You guys would appreciate this motorized acrobatics move!

It's this clip but it happens right in front of the camera so it's MUCH better. I can't figure out how to get the source of the video link though on the one that's somewhere on fb.

Watch REALLY close at the 6 second mark...

Nice, I actually dated several girls that I really liked. But none of them had any financial future unless they won the lottery. For me I wanted something that we both could work for, not one person working to support the other one. Not only that I never wanted a woman to stay with me just because she had no other choice. If she makes her own money she could leave whenever she wants. Saw my dad go through too many bed hoppers... never owned anything, they just lived with different men their whole life.

i used a grinder to take the paint of, so it was raw metal where the welds were being made.

maybe i had the knobs set wrong, it was like 2 C on a lil lincoln

Is the highest letter option on that unit D or E? 110V flux core lincoln? Also, looks like the bottom material is 1/8" at minimum if not thicker, was the face of the other metal equally as thick or was it fairly thin sheet metal?

Right off the bat, I 100% promise your speed setting "2" was WAY too low. Probably should've been more in the 5-7 range depending what the highest letter setting you have is.

I'm not saying my way is right or wrong and there's a million ways to do it but the basic motion I'm doing is a continuous pigs tail curly que type thing at a speed that allows the puddle to fill in the gap. With flux core you really need a clean mask and you have to really watch the puddle right at the arc closely to really see what you're doing cause 90% of what you're looking at is the flux and not the actual weld. The flux doesn't really show truly how the weld is going.

I use a motion like this... best i could find real quick on google images.
