I will be in Cali this weekend for a wedding so no shooting for me.

I am also in need of more ammo for the upcoming riots.

Sounds good to me. My birthday is November 3rd so I'd love to go out that weekend and shoot some! Tannerite + Pumpkins is a possibility as well

The difference between stupidity and ignorance. Ignorance is doing something wrong and not knowing better. Stupidity is knowing better, but doing it anyway. Don't be stupid!

Did some work on the jeep over the weekend

Before:

After:

It came out good but to glossy for my liking. I got satin black plastic kylon paint but it came out looking like it was a gloss batch. O well looks better then the previous hack job the guy before me had done to it.

Andy, probably next week sometime for engine bolt wiring! I "might" see what your thoughts are on some other ones too... I used loctite on them and feel pretty safe with them not wired but it might not hurt. I'm just worried that once I drill them I won't actually be able to get the wrench to tighten them. They're allen head bolts and I'm worried about the burs from drilling keeping the allen from going in the head.

Basically the 6 bolts holding the steering disconnect to the column...

I would think that a small file or dremmel could take care of any burs. Allen head bolts should be pretty easy to drill too. Infact if you know the thread, I might have a few that are pre drilled in my scrounge.

Also is that what your jeep is for... to lean stuff up against?

Just about every vehicle I own is a storage unit of some sort! LOL I'm pretty sure when that picture was taken, I was using my trailer as a driveway work bench to cut the aluminum skidplates on and that's the tailgate from the trailer leaning against the jeep! LOL

BTW, I'm down to $9000 on the for sale ad for it...

Dremel might work but they are fairly small bolts. I know they're 1/4-28 threads but I don't remember the length off hand. I would guess 1/2" long should be safe. I only need 6 of them.

Just let me know when Khris. About the only day I am busy is Tuesday. Let me check the bins at work and see if I can't get some pre-drilled allen head bolts. Are they visible when the wheel is off or are they behind some sort of shroud? If they are visible with the wheel removed, I would probably just locktite them and then birdsnot them to provide a visual tell if they start to back out.

Bird snot? Is that techy talk for a paint line to see movement? Cause if so, I was planning that on other areas of the truck as well...

And can you see them? I guess sorta kinda but not really when the wheel is on. The quick release mount covers most of them visually.

the two tabs sticking up from the center are what you pull on to release the wheel if that makes any sense and those basically completely cover them. Visually they wouldn't be an eye sore at all and probably barely noticeable with the steering wheel on. With it off, having them wired just makes us look more legit and like I'm actually really building/prepping the truck legit like. LOL

bird snot is the highly technical term for torque seal.

http://www.aircraftspruce.com/catalog/cspages/f900.php

Being that they are basically hidden, I would wire them. Not for the go fast look but because you couldn't readily see bird snot. I'll check to see if I can get my hands on some pre-drilled bolts here at work. If I can't, I'll contact some friends that probably can. That or I'll raid Greg's scrounge bin.
