Eff that! Since it will be your money, titanium alloy!

I'm guessing aluminum is more expensive. If that is correct I would take into consideration how hard are you going to wheel compared to dd. I would guess that the difference in weight wouldn't be enough to justify aluminum to me. Like Adam said aluminum tends to break where steel bends.

I've got a question for you guys. I'm thinking while I've got the motor and trans out of my jeep I might as well make some improvements on my unibody. I've heard of buying weld on kits to keep it from cracking under stress and I haven't found any for zj's. how hard would it be to do it myself. I'm not really sure what to do other then building a cage. Any thoughts would be a huge help.

Build sub frame connectors, and box in the corners under the unibody front and rear. Build fender/firewall supports. Cage.

Load of crap, assuming you know the proper material to be used for control arms. If you don't then carry on.

Google "zj frame stiffeners." Clayton's, TnT, and a few others make them.

Don't feel like an ***. Why they are not called subframe connectors (which is the first thing I googled) I don't know. They are called subframe connectors on damn near every other unibody vehicle ever made. I just know that I had seen them.

I would have but that only really works if the person hasn't searched for them. Being that he had searched for them just using wrong key words, I would have felt like an ***.
