Self employed means you are always working and everything seems to be your fault. Good for you it's good to be busy.
I could always be a bit more busy. Just landed a new client that should provide me a good amount of work, so I might not get to wheel as much as I've gotten accustomed to, but I'll be better able to afford it.
Must be nice!! My job just looks for reasons to fire and hire.
That's everywhere. If you quit, it will likely be a while before finding a job you really like and there will be a thousand people wanting the position you just quit.
My wife is management at one of the strip casinos. Her salary was based on a 40 hour week with three days off per week. She would occasionally work more, but now she is working 12 hour days, 5 days a week. That's 60 hours on the schedule and doesn't even include all the later nights.
It's like she works an extra two weeks a month and still only gets paid for a 40 hour week. Salary used to be great when she was just working a little over 40 hours a week.
At this point, she feels lucky to even have a full-time job on the Strip. They recently had 20 part time positions available and over 30,000 people applied. Sad.
I am currently SOL on the job. I am lucky my wife had a good one working at Nellis but that's why we moved here. I stopped looking for a bit after I got the Jeep. When I sold the 05 TL, I paid off her car and got this so I had a little cushion and got lazy. I have just been replacing worn out parts and getting the kinks out. It will be back to the job hunt soon thought.
I am currently paid a salary but the summer is when I get screwed. I'll work 60-70 hour weeks in the summer and it sucks. In the winter I'll work like 4 hours a day so it equals out. What sucks is I'm still in school full time, working like crazy, and recently married. It's looking like it will be a while before I can save enough to rebuild the motor in my jeep. I may be getting my old bike up and running again and sell it for the jeep fund.
If you follow those coordinates and find yourself in this mine, don't go too far. This one seemed very unstable. Lots of rocks were in the path that fell from the ceilings and there were a few cave-ins.
