Do u have to register im new need info thanks

Xjman1 02-18-2013 11:39 PM

No need to register but it helps fund the fight to keep trails open. They also have an incredible raffle so you win either way. Firework show Saturday night is awesome and the area is just a blast to wheel at. There will be hundreds if not thousand of jeeps and other vehicles to drool over and get build ideas.

Who is going to what?

89YJBuilder 02-20-2013 12:46 PM

I guess you're talking about Desert Safari, that is in Anza Borrego. I believe that the club that kinda puts the event on Tierra Del Soul 4X4 Club. Is that what you are talking about?
Wish I could go But it is way too far for me.

Xjman1 02-20-2013 06:02 PM

Yep. That is the event I am talking about. Definitely a good time. Too bad you cannot make it, but with fuel prices, I understand. A 4.5 hour drive for me.

89YJBuilder 02-22-2013 07:08 PM

That is about how long it takes me to head south to Hollister.

Xjman1 02-23-2013 09:50 AM

Yep. You would have a drive then. California is such a huge state. Sounds like you are in the beautiful northern. Snow country.

89YJBuilder 02-23-2013 05:06 PM

Yep I am about 45 min north of the Napa Valley.

I'm heading down for my first time. Anything I should know? I'll be tent camping with my girlfriend.

Things I learned from KOH:
bring cash
there ARE food vendors
30,000 people make a lot of dust

These probably also apply :)

I should point out that I'm new to TDS, desert camping on the other hand, I'm pretty well versed :tea:

I am seriously considering the trip from san fran area. Anyone else up here?

Tds is awesome. Dusty neery great people. Worth10 hour drive!

Xjman1 02-25-2013 09:16 PM

Supposed to be 85* during the day so bring water. There are porty potties all over, food vendors galore on site, gas and food mart a few miles away, so you could camp under the stars with just a bit of wood.
Bring money for the raffle, an awesome good time. Hopefully I win something this year.
If any of you all will be rolling through Ventura area around 3:30 is Friday, you can join our small group. We will be slow going as I have a pop up in tow and plan to stop at OutdoorWorld to eat dinner and catch a rest.
