If work doesn't give me a Suddenly Acquired Prior Commitment, I'm down for it. Example.... I just found out last night at 8 PM that I need to cover a guy's job for the next two days. His shift? 8 PM to 7:30 AM. There goes my plans for Saturday morning... ZZZZZzzzzzz....

You have to start somewhere to get to the middle of nowhere.

You get off at 7:30am, you could be at the Cheveron station on Hwy 20 by 9:00am easy!

Yeah. New item to add to the list of equipment for a one day jeep trip.... pillow.

20 years ago (hell, even 10), working/playing all day following an all-nighter was no big deal. Now, at 53.... the batteries need to be recharged every 24 hours.

Oh well, as my 96 year old grandpa said: "Don't sweat the little $H1T, growing old is a privilege denied to many."

You have to start somewhere to get to the middle of nowhere.

I have a suspicious feeling we may encounter that evil cold stuff that turns any jeep into a useless pile of scrap metal in the matter of seconds. Snow is the debil! LOL! Which reminds me, I need to re-spool my winch cable after last weekends stuck-fest! LOL!

Stuck-fest? Not to beat a dead horse, and sorry only half the folks who said they were in actually showed up, but did anyone bring (and use) chains? Again, not berating, just wondering.....

Me? I plan on bringing a skidder (if it will fit between the back seat and the tailgate).

You have to start somewhere to get to the middle of nowhere.

Most of us brought chains, but the snow was so deep and soft up there once you're out of the groove it's all over like this...

or this....

Yeah, I know... Sometimes you need those expanded metal/trailer ramp plates you see mounted to the sides of old-school Land Rover Defenders so you have enough flotation to cross the swamp, snow, quicksand... place in front of tires, and you move forward, one pair of plates at a time.

You have to start somewhere to get to the middle of nowhere.

So will this run be like the last one? Lots of mud?

"follow at your own risk" or "trail? What trail? We don't need no stinking trail"
