Only thing I need to install is my rear bumper and bumpstops and they are just sitting in the garage floor ready to go on. I plan to make a run up to Big Bear in a couple weeks. Will probably do something mild like Gold Mtn. to see how all the new parts will perform. Plan to do this trip either Saturday 3/10 or Saturday 3/17. It would be awesome if all you guys could come along. Gold mtn is doable for just about any build level. A stocker open front and rear might struggle, but with straping/winching from myself or someone else we could get anyone through.
i didnt make the list. can i join too

This gives me an idea. We should post up pics of our rigs so we can attach an image to a screen name. I don't have any current pics so I will try to go out tomorrow night and get pics with the new bumpers and 33's.

Here's a pic after I installed my 2" BB and 31's. It doesn't look much like this anymore, but at least you will be able to see the progression from this to 5" on 33's and armor.

Here's how she sits as of 15 minutes ago. 4.5" lift on 33's. Still need to install the rear TAG bumper (don't get me started on what a PITA that has been) the 3/4" KOR spacers, and the front and rear bumpstops and the build should be done. Well...... for a while.

I have ran them on my last 3 Jeeps and never had one fail. They are about as bright as the Hella 500s I had on my Bronco. They often have them on sale for $16.99 a pair. I just wait until they go on sale and buy 2 pairs. They come with the wires, fuse, and switch. Complete kit with nothing else needing to be purchased. They are definately cheap, but they seem to last and are plenty bright.

hey bhicks, so this possible trail run you have planned for the 10th or 17th...
im wanting to go but not sure if my rig is ready. i dont have any kind of skid plates and im concerned about my front CV style driveshaft. i dont wanna be that newb that breaks down on the trail.

we're going to the sierras at the end of may and my brother and i are taking the jeeps. i wanna try and get the possible let me down parts replaced and also want some skid plates installed before our trip.

im also looking for some front tow hooks if anybody has a set they wanna let go

I'm gonna go on the 17th. That will give me enough time to get my rear bumper on, bumpstops, spacers, and fender trimming. I will definately be running gold mtn. You shouldn't break down on that trial. I took my stock TJ through there a few years ago, and just took a stock JK and TJ through there a couple months ago. We will have to take a couple bypasses for you, but you will make it all the way through. I do need to know how comfortable you are with some minor trail damage. Your plastic bumpers will probably have some trail marks at the end. If your not comforble with any damage then come along anyways. When we get to the trail head you can hop into my Jeep and run the trail. The trail loops around and will eventually drop us off back where we started so I will not be out of the way It will give you a feel of how a lifted/moded WJ can perform. That way you will know if that is something you want in the future or not.

Sounds like a fun run. I'm in the same boat as I need to wait until this spring when I can get a transfer case skid, front recovery, and new tires. I think I'm just going straight to a front receiver instead of the hooks.
