Shredder Canyon, Sat Feb 9th

a few guys from my club are going to be running Shredder Canyon this saturday. we'll be meeting at Burger Basket in Lake LA (170th east & Ave O) at 8am and plan on leaving there about 8:30am. Post up here if you want to go so we can see who to expect. As far as what the trail is like - rocks & more rocks - this will be my 1st time running it so I'm not too sure what the vehicle requirements are - some kind of lift, some kind of locker Look at the Runs/Events tab on the opening page of www.hd4w.org to get a look at some photos and there is also a link to old magazine articles written about the trail.

yup, 8am at Burger Basket, in Lake Los Angeles, on the southeast corner of avenue O and 170th street east. you gonna make it? it's a short run, so shouldn't get dark on us this time.

we ended up getting to the trail head at about 9am - a few guys were running late this morning (including me). it was a fun filled day of carnage, winching, strapping, lots of spotting, tons of scrapes and dings - that's an awesome trail!!! My 1st time through it, and definitely not my last. the day started with 8 rigs and ended with 5 completing the run. Nick's ZJ - broken d30 u-joint, spare shafts so he continued after a quick swap. Scott's 88 Suburban had fuel problems. Richard's stock 4 runner wasn't really up to the challenge so he cut out after watching us run the 1st obstacle. Jim's TJ - broken superior 30 spline d30 axle shaft ear, u-joint, ball-joint - we had to do the repairs while it was up on a 4' tall ledge!

craigslist. I got a tailgate rack from the guy too, but I need to mod it - my 35's too big. I got the lights from a local 4x4 shop - 6" pro comp 100w, I still need to wire them in, then probably need to upgrade my alternator, between the new lights, my stereo/subwoofer, and my elec fan, I don't want to overwork the stock unit.
