Shifter problem.. wont stay in 4h.. any socal help?

So my 4wd shifter does not go all the way up to stay in the normal 2H position. I have a 1991 YJ, It still operates at 2H, but when I try to use 4H, i have to hold it in place because it wont stay by itself.. any suggestions?..

sorry i tried searching and couldnt find the same problem.

thanks in advance for all your help
