i wish i could have made it out there today too. hope you guys had a good time. any pics? i'll put a couple up once my buddy sends them to me. maybe we can get another run going soon, as soon as funds allow for me.
Sliders help....but seriously, I'm on 35s with 4" of lift and I had to try REALLY hard to scratch up my sliders (like purposely crawl up a boulder and slide down on them). And I've done this trail without sliders.
I think the stock rubis had 32s on them....but I've seen stockers do it.
i ran it in a stock LJ on 30" bfg at's. i dont remember that section in the video but i did everything else fine. wasn't even disco'd or aired down haha. even managed to get my buddy's 07 taco on 31s i think through fine, no harm done anywhere. fun trail and if theres something you think is too much for your rig theres a way around it like they said. im sure your ZJ would do fine on it.
there was alot of areas that these guys go over instead of around. the main road takes you around most of the more twisty and step up stuff. Good times!
oh trust me i didnt bypass much didnt really know where we were going, just kept following the road till we saw the offshoots and just went for it. fun stuff.
Yeah I found out that the bypass around the V-Notch is a good mile and a half  I have 33s on a 2in suspension spacer and 3 in BL... Equals ZERO ARTICULATION!!! AND I didn't air down or disconnect at all! I did ok on most of it, a little teetering here and there. I bypassed the stuff that I thought for sure I couldn't make. All in all, a great trail for beginners or advanced drivers.
Just a heads up- my laptop died on me, so I won't be on for another 10 days or so. I have a few pics and vids of the trip, but they're stuck on the dead guy. I'll post them here as soon as I can get them up.
I'm down for Thursday. What trail are you guys tackling?
Last time I went up to Santiago Peak my fuel pump cut out at the top on the way down. Apparently the wiring to the pump tore somehow. I ended up having my buddy tow-strap me all the way down. lol
hey guys
zj checking in from huntington beach
hey derrick thanks for everything its all working great.
im sad i missed the cleghorn run i have been wanting to do that one for a while now but maybe another time
that silverado run is fun the first couple of times i would come but i have a meeting at five so thats a no go...
anyways keep posting trips im good for cleghorn or big bear in a couple weeks if anyone wants to go
is it possible we reschedule for next week? any day next week would be better...i have to help my mom move some stuff out of her store tomorrow, she told me and i totally spaced.
Not a problem. Any time is fine....I do have to check on next week, though. I think some of my amatuer students are fighting in a tournament and I have to go coach. I'll know for sure in a couple days.
Oh...and the run can be as long as we make it. The whole thing (from Silverado to Ortega) can take upward of 3 hours. You can turn off in different directions....head back to Silverado...whatever...and it can adjust the time).
