Sorry you couldn't make it Mike. The show was definately JK based, but the vendors know better for next year. The guys that put it on didn't realize it would end up as big as it did vendor wise, so I don't think they wanted to push their luck with all Jeeps. I think the feedback has been strong for making it an all Jeep event for next year. I tried to get Brian to change the name to LJ Summerfest!! but, the only feedback I got there was...
Yes we did!! I had a great time. Thanks again Dave for showing me the way. That was very helpful.
Hey we had a great time. I am a little jealous of RiverKids take home from the Summerfest.
Here is how it goes with Tail Gunning...
You rarely take photos because you would have to walk up the trail to do so and then back down you rig to run your turn...Your rarely in photos because peeps get burnt out taking the pics on the same obstacle over and over as the Jeeps cross it...
You get to see the lines and by the time your turn comes up, smoke through clean as a whistle.
The trail boss has the worse time of it. IMO the worse place to run an unfamiliar trail. Especially if your alone and have to count on second back to spot you.
I went out with a group last year and one guy had cameras mounted and could see the trail form a monitor inside. That was pretty cool but they dust over quickly and you have to constantly clean them.
Hey....just come wine tasting with us in Temecula. We make a habit of stopping off at Steve's house afterward for a, how should we say....cleansing of the palates?
LOL. Something to get the wine taste out. No better way then his wheat beer I would say. Good stuff.
John Bull was excellent but I am glad you called it a day when you hit the wall physically. I did not roll into MV until 8:30 or so. It took a while to get back down the hill after I dropped Rooster back in the Village so he could get his rental car.
Spod John, Hatch, Andy...good people. Whole group = a bunch of drivers...made the day.
This question is for the OP. I tagged along when we went on that first Silverado canyon run. I was the one who left early because of the broken hanger. I need to find out what was the trail that we started on. Can some one link it to me on Google maps. I believe it was right off of either Santiago canyon rd, or Live oak canyon rd.
I remember driving down Santiago Canyon Rd then taking a left at some bar which according to google maps is Live Oak Rd. But this is where I get lost. I remember traveling down that road going over some bridge and then the entrance to this trail was just on the left.
But when I follow that rd with Google maps I can never see a bridge.
If anyone can help that would be awesome, I would like to head out there this weekend for a quick trip with a friend but I lost the POI that I saved on my GPS.
Hey is anyone interested in running up to Cleghorn and Silverwood lake in about 2 weeks? My buddy's moving up to WA state and wants to run it with me before he leaves. I'm thinkin Sat/Sun/Mon trip, on July 18-20.
Reply or PM me if you're interested in going...
