Most of us have been building our jeeps over several years. Just do a little here and there and in no time you'll have a capable rig.

The first thing I think you should buy is some rock sliders. That way if your on a trail and rub/smack a boulder you won't have to worry about major body damage. I'd also lose the low hanging steps. They'll end up getting bent up if you leave them on. Watch craigslist close, sometimes parts you'll want will pop up on there.

Any suggestions on some good sliders? Or is it a personal preference kinda thing?

Yeah there's a bunch of options out there. Look at poison spider, Rock Hard, Gen Right. I'm sure some of these guys will throw some other options out there. Look on www.4wheelparts.com , and www.quadratec.com they'll have a bunch of different brands on there websites.

if you can find some take-off rubicon rocker guards, those will work good! I've got them on mine, and they can take some good beating. You might be able to find some rubicon guards for free, or very cheap. They probably aren't the strongest, but they aren't junk. Surely way way better than nothing at all I'm going to keep mine on until they start bending, but so far they haven't bent at all. Scraped up real good, but no bends! I'll probably grind through them before I bend them

If you're on a tight budget, look around for used take-off parts, they are cheaper than new, and sometimes even free Jeep folks are all the time swaping out things, upgrading, or just changing because they want to try something different.

I'll keep an eye out for those, thanks! I was flipping through the toy catalog (Quadratech) and saw some sexy looking rockers there too.

Hmmmmm, what to do, what to do....

I forgot all about the Rubicon sliders. I actually have the set I took off of mine sitting out back. If you decide that's the kind you want I'll take $50.00 for them.

You could make your own sliders like I'm doing, but that will probably take me 9 years at this rate...
