Never leaked until he did the gears. I think he may have caught the seal on something putting it back in.

Yeah, could've been on the edge of being worn out and when they pulled the axles and put them back in, it just went.

Did you have them put new seals in the front.?

Getting TIG practice though :-) When I weld on the bottom plate on the other end of the tube, I think I'll torch the plate to get it hot before I start. It was quite evident than the plate was soaking up alot of heat, once it got hot it was alot easier to weld.

The rectangle tubing is 1/4" wall thickness I think, and the plate is a little bit thicker than that. I have to keep stopping and starting because I keep tripping the breaker in the fuse box for the garage. Couldn't weld more than 3/4" of travel at a time *sigh* I'll have better power some day.
Nice job Daniel: two thumbs up!

Yeah nice welds Comanche.

Starting my rack again. The first one yesterday, we tried to bend the corners. Hand bending didn't turn out very good.

The rack looks good! Looks heavy though, eh? Is that 3/16" flatbar?

Thanks, yeah the flat bar is 3/16's but the tube is 065. It's not that heavy, and when you consider no more swing away the jeeps lost weight.

Paint won't happen until tomorrow.
