Your twisting my words.clg82 said:please point us into the direction of the study that was done about bolt on cages being stronger than custom built frame mounted cages.....we'll wait...
yes and I got one in that pass for an air freshenerMaybe obstructing vision? Can't you get a ticket from having things hang from your mirror? Thought I heard that once
nah back in the 80s they did a few studies.....ahh who am i kidding he's wrong :rofl:I think another difference is that welded frame mount cages, you can roll, then roll back over and keep on chugging. With a bolt in cage, you roll it, it will save you and then you're going to be replacing a lot of it damaged in the roll.
Haha, what does that prove? That's just a rough draft of what I said on here.clg82 said:Weird lol you felt pretty strongly that your roll cage was far superior.
It all depends on how bad the roll is. Even a bolt together cage can be frame mounted.SkylarM said:I think another difference is that welded frame mount cages, you can roll, then roll back over and keep on chugging. Haha, just mount the coil spring to a helmet.SkylarM said:I was thinking about doing away with the cage altogether and using my stock coil springs to add an eject feature to my seat.
That's correct. With special bolts that are hardened. It all depends on how bad the roll is. Even a bolt together cage can be frame mounted. Look at Sam's roll for instance. I'd rather have my Rock Hard cage then just have the factory cage with bars going to the windshield. Had she had a rock hard cage it probably wouldn't of folded back damaging her doors. Right? Like I said before Clg started his rant. I'm planning on getting a poison spider fully welded bolt in cage. Not bolt together, bolt in. Even it'll have frame tie ins. I still maintain I'd rather have the rock hard front cage that I currently have then what the jeep came with stock. If my memory is correct Clg has just the factory cage? Am I right Christopher ?

Bushings will solve the vibration/fracture issue. I was running thin on $$. It ebbs and flows you know.WSS, I see you chose solid mount tub to frame. Any concern of tub cracking out around the bolt through location over time? I've seen on a few cage build threads where some people chose to use a bushings with the frame tie in to allow for body mount movement.
I can totally understand that. I was just curious. Your fab work looks excellent. I was talking to another buddy a little while ago and told him to check your cage pics on here.WSS said:Bushings will solve the vibration/fracture issue. I was running thin on $$. It ebbs and flows you know. The C pillar tie to the frame is the only one welded as of now. The A is bolted both to the frame and through the tub. The cage can still be removed by un bolting. The seats and all will come out with it, capsule like. Lets call the "bolted" cages "modular" instead? It is more politically correct. LOL WSS
Outward, like in a circle?.that's why we both have straps to limit our travel...
I never said anything like that.zombiehunta666 said:Lmao
Well if you want to get political, Gary and I don't even have roll cages… We have Rock Hard's SPORT cage :laugh:Bushings will solve the vibration/fracture issue. I was running thin on $$. It ebbs and flows you know.
