Just looked at your maps. Worse case scenario I'm down there close to the highway.

You should be able to get to the flats or right at the mouth of the wash UNLESS your truck is really really low. The road in is not that bad, hell I saw a GMC SUV up there with a trailer last weekend.

Yeah the front of my dodge sits pretty low. We'll see how it looks when/if we can make it out there. Thanks for the info though.

Aw man when I checked the cabin the other day I took my Chevy 3500 and I drove it all the way to the cabin Dave wants to stage at with NO problems. The only issue is if your going to stay in the flats go past the first right hand turn, which is really sharp, to the turn around and then go down to the flats. And then reverse it to go home.

Or if you want go further and there is a place to camp at on the left as the road goes down into the wash. Either place will work for you, it's all up to you.

Jeff is right and made a great point...

The flat just on the left at the mouth/crest of Goler Gulch is a perfect place with room to turn the truck and trailer back around as well! Plus, you can totally view the cabin from that vantage point as well. I have seen plenty of rigs/setups similar to yours hotshot in this location with plenty of room, having unloaded all their toys there and setup with fire rings as well. Plus, you're only a few hundred feet from the cabin I will be at as well.

We like to stay out on the air strip off Charlies place road.

I look forward to it! My "club" as it were, is little more then the name these days. We began in the mid 90s. Many of the members have married, made babies, gone broke, etc. (like myself lol) and many have moved away. A few of us are beginning to perhaps "fire" it back up, we'll see. Anyway, I very much look forward to meeting up not only with the Jeepers from this forum (and another one) but the Dodge Dudes as well! The more the merrier! At my camp I look forward to Beer, BBQ, friends and shootin' the chit. The only thing I ask is for no stupid drunkinness~I only mention it because it has happened in the past, so throwin' it out there. That and be safe, that's pretty much it.

Let's Do This! I am ready now! lol

Regarding my post #69...

That website link I posted in that post is a pretty good little read. The following is an excerp from that site...what it describes is precisely what I meant regarding lack of knowledge for the "flats". The few remaining buildings are remnants of the following:

"Before long a stage began to run between Goler and Mojave (Mojave was the nearest railroad at the time), and a town (however never actually being considered a town, it was a camp) began to pop up around the mining activity. The number of businesses that once occupied the town of Goler is not well documented, however a boarding house, several saloons, and a store are known to have been located here."

I wish I could locate photos from this era, however, there seems to be so little in existance regarding Goler I doubt I ever will... .Other then the 2001 encounter with that old couple that grew up there.

Anyway, rambling over lol
