Honestly, I think it may be best to wait til the actual repair trip. It seems to me any materials left there at this point would likely be burned, tossed, shot up, etc. I would feel better once we have been there and I can post something in an attempt to make it KNOWN someone is making repairs and to NOT TOUCH anything.

The idea of a heater, running water, and a shower at the end of a dusty trail all sound so good, but I am worried about getting stuck, and either rolling over to the side with the trailer, or not being able to get back out. So, may try going up with it, and try. Is there an entrance on the east side of the airstrip? It seems I remember one over there. That might work as well. Yesterday I did not see an area LARGE ENOUGH to turn 60 feet of trailer and truck around!!!! ( Yeah, 45 ft of trailer, and 16 feet of truck!)
Orrrrr.....I just bring the big Pop-up trailer, and "rough it" with no hot showers. We will have to see what happens here when i get to rolling out.

Why not stay at the top of the hill where the road drops down into the wash about 200 yards from the cabin on the left side of the road? I have seen many big trucks and trailers parked there.
You should be able get into and out of there no problems. Besides a hot shower sounds good after a few days of wheeling.

Yeah Jeff, I looked at that, but just above the turn down to the airstrip, it is washed out, and I don't know if I can either straddle it, or go around with out taking out a LOT of bushes. I don't really want to tear up the trailer plumbing underneath, nor the sides where the paint is. ( I know I know..just a little "desert pinstripping" right?)
I am going to research and see if there is another way into the area on the east end as well.

Big vs Small Trailer...

Hey Steve, Yes, there is in fact a way into the "flats/air strip" from the East end. However, it is a series of service roads for the power towers and double back numerous times between the pavement and the airstip. I would not recommend attempting that route with even a small trailer as jackknifing is likely the ultimate outcome. The route we all know best up to and ******* off of Charly Road is the best option. I still think it IS possible for the big trailer albeit you may need a spotter setting up, turning around, etc.

Just my 2 cents, which these days, is perhaps worth a couple centavos! lol

I was going to ask if you were bringing someone or you had a mouse in your pocket! LOL With all I have to do in the morning to get ready I don't think I will leave until 930/1000. Just too much to do lately and not enough time!

I totally understand and agree with the NEVER ENOUGH TIME scenario!
