Really nice pics showing what Johnson Valley is all about
We/I often mention Johnson Valley here in the TJ Tech forum and I'm sure some of you have no idea of the kind of terrain and wheeling that goes on out there.
Some friends of mine were out there over Thanksgiving, Mrblaine among them, and one of the "crew" took the beautiful photos in the attached link. I thought you guys would enjoy them.
Click on http://www.pronografics.com/pictures...ksgiving_2008/ to see the pics.
This is non-Tech so I'll remove this thread late tonight or first thing in the morning. It's only here because JV gets mention in this forum once in a while... an awesome beautiful very cool place to wheel in. The trails there have equally cool names including Wrecking Ball, Outer Limits, Jackhammer, Sledgehammer, Claw Hammer, Highway 19, and others.

Great photos Jerry. I am very familar with Johnson Valley as we do race out there. It's unfortunate that this may be shut down due to the Military trying to take it over. If anyone is interested in this huge debate I invite you to read all about it at www.PFJV.org Also anyone that lives here in Southern California there are public forums being held on the 4th, and 5th again I urge you to attend.

Very cool, are you participating in the 2009 King of the Hammers race (and I use that term loosely) coming up in February? I'll be helping at one of the checkpoints at the 2009 KOH.
And yes many of us here are familiar with the Marines possibly annexing JV and we have been active in the fight against their doing so. Not many of the senior Marine commanders are even aware just how popular JV is for people who enjoy the area's beauty and unique type of offroading trails not available anywhere else.

Those pics are awesome! They capture it well.
We were lucky, we got to go out to JV this past weekend, Saturday with the quads and Sunday was Jeep day. I just sat back and let my 12 and 14 year old kids drive us around until the sun went down and I got to find our way back via GPS in the dark.
While I just sat and stared at the grandeur of it all (between moments of stark terror with the kids driving) I had trouble keeping the potential loss of this one of a kind area out of my mind.
