Possibly going to Oceano Dunes SVRA (Pismo) this Saturday(3/19)

Hey guys,

I’m visiting a buddy in LA this weekend. He lives ~3 hrs from the Oceano Dunes, so time permitting we’re going to try and go there Saturday. I have a whip w/orange flag, is there any other special equipment I will need? In addition to the normal wheelin’ gear: high lift/tow hook/chain, etc.

Also, if anyone in the area wants to go, we’re not 100% sure we’re going but I should have a better idea by Friday.

Big/wide meats are a plus... and the key to Pismo is low PSI.
Remember 15 mph on the sand on the way to the dunes! The rangers love to give tickets!
Some thick plywood or 2x10 or whatever in case you do need to use that highlift. Pismo sand very fine!
Also, Splash Cafe in downtown for the best clam chowder on the planet!!!

Sounds like you have it covered. Supposed to rain this weekend but Pismo is still fun regardless. Oh yeah as mentioned watch out for the rangers.

If it does rain, watch out for the creek crossing. You could get trapped in the dunes as it is the only way out and if it is bad enough they may close it.

Those were the days, but no reason to give the land grabbers more ammo. They already want Pismo Closed to OHV like any other area we recreate at.
