She gets off from school at like 10am on friday so I think we will leave soon after that, and she is in davis so I'll already be an hr closer than where I am now

Well, looks like it might be a while before I can do any four wheeling. After tearing into my diff, front driveshaft, and t-case yesterday, I found that my front output shaft (bearing / chain, or both) is shot. Explains the binding and groaning I've been dealing with. I plan on swapping my stupid 247 Quadra-Trac, all-time, t-case out for a 242HD Select-Trac. Stronger and I won't have to be in 4WD all the time. I hate all wheel drive, it's for stupid people that don't to deal with switching to 4WD when you need it. :

Oh well, thats the one nice thing about things breaking, it gives you an excuse to upgrade and slip it by the wifey. Although in this case it probably would cost more to rebuild that 247 vs swapping to the 242HD. Junk yards, here I come!!

sorry to hear about the tcase, it seems to me that using auto tranny fluid is a good choice for gas mileage, but sucks for longevity. im down in your guys neck of the woods until wednesday(concord). way to many people around here.

Speaking of concord area, for the guys in Norcal and around the area I work at ToyotaPro in Concord. We specialize on Toyota and Lexus but we work on most other manufactures as well, like jeeps!

I will offer special prices for JF members for services in anything from scheduled maintenances to what ever aftermarket parts you guys want installed. Just drop by or pm me with any questions.

Camilo

That'd be a cool idea, I haven't met anyone to go wheelin' with yet, and that could definitely help me meet some people who might want to go down to Hollister some time, I'll have to check this thread more often for a Hollister run then.
