Oct 9Th fish and wheel trip to loon lake

i thought i would start this thread a little early for you guys that work the weekends. it gives you time to plan.

Friday Oct 9Th get a campsite and fish at loon.
Saturday wheel to little sluice for lunch and back to loon for dinner.
Sunday fish in the morning at loon and head home around noon.

I'm going to try to get a campsite at the main campsite at loon.
ill be bring my boat and oldest son.

trolling should be great that time of year and limits should be got in 4 to 5 hours.

so fishing, wheeling, BBQ, campfire, shooting the bull, what else is there!

the fishing should be good. im going up there with a local mens group for 4 days at the end of this month. ill walk the campsites and get some good intel on which would be the best one for us. it all depends on how many go. an aluminum boat would be good to bring but not a requirement. at the end of this month it will be a lot harder to catch them because of the heat. the fish will be deep. in october they will be shallow and i expect limits in a few hours!

the jeep is going good Bob (carb -0, Camilo -1), running and I've been driving it around these last two days, making sure things are ok before any kind of long trip.
I wish I had all the parts you have on my yj but I guess time will bring parts one by one

This trip is still on my schedule, I'm glad is a little ways from now so more ppl and I have time to get things right for the trip

Just checked my schedule (we change in Sept. and I'm the vacation coverage guy). I should be open that weekend, unless something changes, I'm gonna plan to go.

You do have a winch right?

I probably won't get Friday off, but I'll see about the weekend.

went to loon lake to talk to the camp site host. they close it down the weekend after we go. He said the fishing is great and will be even better in October. While i was there i went to the cantina for the con and had tacos. There were some nice rigs running around.
