I'm starting this thread because Xj-Tim had a good idea that we should do a well planned out run a couple times a year. Not a one day thing, but more of a full weekend trip. So anyone have ideas for the first trip? I'm thinking sometime in June maybe?

What weekends work best for everyone?

I dont have a job or any summer school planned. Im up for anything in June, July, and beginning of August.

I'd like to do something in a forest environment. I dont know a lot of trails around here...

Sounds cool. If it's semi-annual maybe a mountain trip in the summer and a desert trip in the winter.

What about doing trails in the mountains around big bear and lake arrowhead? We would have to camp at a camp ground though.

That's what I was thinking too. I just didn't know if some people would think it was too "local" for a well planned trip. It would be a blast tho

My thinking was that gas is going to be more expensive this summer and that something a little closer to home would be preferred.

There is also a ton of desert out here, but I think something more challenging would be more fun.

Love that idea. Big bear trails are great. Super fun and close to civilization (helpful in the event of an emergency or break). this would be a very fun trip and believe me everyone its worth the drive. Hell i don't like the gas ill be spending money on to get their but I love driving my jeep ! So anything is worth it to take me other girlfriend out for some fun!

I'm down for whatever. I won't know my summer class schedule for a couple weeks , but I don't take fri/weekend classes anyway (who does?) and getting a thurs or Friday off wouldn't be a big deal. I like the mountain idea. I'm kind of sick of deserts to be honest, but if everyone else is down I'll prob go too.
