Looking like I may not be able to make this one Jeff? Trying but I don't think it's gonna happen. If things change I'll let you know.

Hey no problem, there will always be another day for wheeling.
Sending you a PM with an off-topic question.

Sorry but due to 3 fires in the Piutes they have closed all roads and trails so the firefighters can do their thing. Went to McIvers last weekend and had a good time.

No problems, another time.

I'm not gonna be able to make it, gotta work all weekend on fire damages. I would still like to go up there. Google shows it about a 2.5 drive from lake Isabella. I would have to stay at lake Isabella cause its about a 5 hr drive from here.

No problem I understand completely. Maybe the next run? You could camp up there, lots of unimproved camping as well as improved camping.

In the Kennedy Meadows/Kern Plateau area you have the following:
Troy Meadows, an improved CG.
Troy Meadows Overflow, an un-improved CG. Read all dirt.
Fish Creek, an improved CG.
Fish Creek Overflow, an un-improved CG.

Plus many Meadows that allow camping all around the area, you need to get a map of the area to see what I mean. When I go up Saturday I am going to try to snag as many as I can. I could mail you one if I am sucessful.

I have been to the top of Sherman many times on the bike but not in the Jeep yet.

Sorry for the late reply but the FS is out of the free maps but you can always buy one of the area.
