Lytle Creek to Wrightwood?

I was thinking on heading up to Lytle Creek Saturday morning. There is coffee, food and gas just west of the I15 at Sierra Ave, aka Lytle Creek Ave. There are number of fire road trails up there all very easy so this will be just a casual ride just to explore. I've heard it you could go all the way up into some of these canyons. There is a trail going up to Mt Baldy, but there is a gate part way up. I will contact ranger station to get more info. Could end up at Wrightwood for lunch or something like that. Has anyone been up in this area lately?

Looks like tomorrow is work on the jeep day and prepare for Mothers Day. Lets wait a week and see how much interest is generated for next Saturday. And I do believe, from other posts, its the official topless day?

Check link above for updates.

Looks like some want to do Cleghorn so I may alter course to have lunch while watching trains. For those not wanting to do Cleghorn, they could go on to Wrightwood.

I was just looking up some maps because 2N89 looks like it runs along the tracks to the 3N49 cut-off and farther to Hwy 138.
Look what I found: http://www.fs.usda.gov/detail/sbnf/m...telprdb5156663
Everyone needs to down load the SB North and South maps. You can zoom and print current page for any section of the maps. Sooooo Coooool!

Hey if you haven't done this Lytle Creek to Wrightwood run yet and still want to I'd be down for it after the Holiday weekend. Maybe the weekend of May 30th? Or the weekend after that? Let me know.

I would go again. Was an awesome trail. Not rough but you got your highs and your lows. Crawled to 6400 feet. The views were spectacular.
