OK, I don't live in Sac, but I live in San Jose, and will possibly be moving to Sac in a few months if I can find a job over there. Either way, if you haven't already seen this book:

http://www.amazon.com/Backcountry-Adventures-Northern-California/dp/1930193084

you really should check it out. it's something like 550 pages of trails, with difficulty, scenic, and remoteness ratings, GPS coordinated directions, and writeups and pictures of every trail in Northern California. Every jeeper should have one. I love reading it at night, trying to think of good trips, but I have yet to go on any trails. I've been out to Hollister several times, though. Anyway, I'm subscribed, and might be interested in a trip if the timing is right.

Ok, I know I'm bringing this thread back from the dead, but I was just wondering if there is anyone in the area who might be willing to help me tune my CB. I just got it installed and can't find anywhere that does tuning (you'd think RADIOshack just by the name, but now it's more like CellPhoneShack) and am trying to aviod spending more money on the darn CB set-up for the SWR meter. If anyone can help, it would be appreciated, if not, thanks anway.

Go to the truck stop at I-80 and W. El Camino. There is a small CB shop next to the main building on the left hand side.

Where exactly are you? I've got an SWR meter, you can get the same one from Fry's with the little extender cable for under $20. Anyhow, I can give you a hand if I'm somewhat close.

I live in Sactown. Do you know the name of the shop?

Thanks, but I think an hour might be a little too far for me. I really do appreciate the offer though.

I don't know what the shop would charge, but here's a link to the one Fry's carries. http://shop1.frys.com/product/3415093;jsessionid=SVlgERXBYWbFLZOnxQemDw**.node1? site=sr:SEARCH:MAIN_RSLT_PG
