Joshua Tree: Berdoo Canyon Road to Gold Crown Road - Jan 18th (19th w/camping)

I'm leading an easy 4WD run up Berdoo Canyon to Geology Tour Road, and then into the Joshua Tree NP on January the 18th. Some of us are planning on camping the night of the 18th to hit more (challenging) trails on the 19th before going home that afternoon. This is an easy run that won't require 4WD *unless* you choose to take many of the optional sections that require 4WD plus traction-aided diffs.

Berdoo Canyon "Road" - High Centered on asphalt!?!

Going up requires a flexible suspension, locking rear diff, or sometimes both.

You're welcome, SDDave! That is a nice-looking Rubicon, too! It worked real well on Berdoo Cyn last year.

Reminder -- The run is coming up in less than 2 weeks. There are about 20 vehicles scheduled to run these trails, so you won't be alone out there. Lots of fun - and camping for those who want to run Brooklyn Mine Jeep Trail on Day 2.

I was looking at the requirements and it says I need a cb radio. So i have a quick question; when I buy a cb radio, do I need to get anything else? Antenna or extra cable or anything?

You will want an antenna to connect to the CB. A magnetic mount will work, because you won't need to worry about grounding the antenna cable. But, I have the antenna cable grounded and the CB radio grounded (to the tub) and the results are flawless (for the equipment I'm running). I bought everything at Radio Shack.
