Per "Southern Calif. Backroads..." (by C Wells) on Heartbreak Ridge - "Lockers, skid plates and high ground clearance recommended. Not super difficult but fairly tough. Some aggressive stock vehicles with good articulation might get through, but tow-strap assistance will likely be necessary and body damage is possible".

This book is fairly conservative when rating trails. It rates Holcomb Creek with the same difficulity - I've seen a stock TJ go through that one (with a strap used once or twice).

Check here to see pictures of the run we did a couple months ago...

I would recommend at least 31's for this trail, and at least one other Jeep.

My self and some buddies are planning to head up to Big Bear on Oct. 12. I think we will try to run the heart break ridge. We will most likley hit the Dennys resturant off Archibald and the 60 frwy. early morning for breakfast and then hit up the mountain. I will post again as it gets closer. All is welcome. Chris

Do you have any idea what trails and times? I would love to do it if I can work it out with my softball game.

I might be up in Big Bear that weekend and would be interested in a run Sunday. Where does this trail start?
