GoPro Cameras Q & A

A lot of guys have been running GoPro cameras on their Jeeps for several years now. Some people are just getting started in the GoPro world (me being one of them). I just thought I would start a link for people that have questions and answers and helpful hints about running GoPros.

I'll start..... On the Loon Lake run I ran my gopro for about 13 minutes. I want to input it into Movie Maker, but it won't take it because it is MP4. How do I input it into Movie Maker? Some of my other footage on my gopro is not MP4, I guess the gopro decides what is MP4 and what is not?

How do I flip my footage? It films upside down while on the Jeep, but I can't figure out how to flip it over when I put it on the pc to view it.

Flipping it back up is easy by using the GoPro CineForm Studio software. Here's how to do so:

1. import the files you want to rotate into Cineform Studio, by using the "Import New Files" button.

2. Highlight the video that you want to rotate in the import file list on the left hand side.

3. Check off the "ROTATE/FLIP" box on the lower left hand side of the viewing screen. This will rotate your video 180 degrees.

Once you have completed these steps, you can make any additional adjustment, such as trimming the clip or changing frame rates before converting and then exporting the file. Once you have exported the file, all the changes that have been made will be saved in the exported file.

Do you have to purchase that software?

I don't believe movie maker supports mp4. You can download conversion software or try gopro's free editing software "cineform". I ran into the same issue

You can also use Cyberlink Power Director. It will automatically send it to your Youtube account. If you want more info, PM me.

I am trying to figure out the best way to mount the Gopro. Has anyone found a preference for windshield mounting with the suction cup or the sticky mount?

lowranger 04-25-2013 09:39 PM

I've used the windshield mount suction cup and it works great!

How do I get my video clip from "Cineform" so I can e-mail it to someone?

You might look at a mag antenna mount at one of the ham places, I through one of those in the bottom of a stuffed angry bird and it does 80mph on the front of my jeep.
