Feeler: Jeep weekend at Ocean Dunes

Just curious how many people would be interested in having a weekend at Pismo when the weather gets warmer. Camp Friday night, wheel Saturday, bonfire/bbq Saturday night, leave sunday morning.

Again, when the weather gets warmer....as in many months away. I would kinda like to see 10+ Jeeps snaking along the dunes... be kinda cool...

We did a trip out there last summer and had a great time. I'm sure more people are willing to go again from the bay area. The only problem we ran into was the wind, the weekend we went just has some serious wing and just couldnt stand it from noon to 5pm.

I'll be there with my son, but won't be for long as it's not too entertaining for a 3yr old that gets car sick lol

If there are a handfull+ people going Im down... I have not connected with any other jeepers yet for an adventure so it should be fun. I will also see if my buddy who just got his wj wants to come, we hit up the shasta/trinity area not to long ago... and we bot surf so pismo sounds fun.

wondering... if i go.. if i should...
replace my BFG mud terrains which have about 25% tread,, with another set I have that have 90% tread...
Also re-install the TPMS sensors... and wondering what the sensors do if you air down to 15-20 psi...
Any opinions? and I hope its not "off topic"

Big squat.. I see you have MT's in the bottom pic... do you air down for pismo? I have a WJ

those tires are 33" on 10" rims. i aired them down to around 10lbs and worked great. they have soft sidewalls and i puntured two of them so i went to some used goodyear mtr's. they worked much better on ice, rock , and snow than the bfg's. i also went to a 8" or less rim to give me more height. no more popping the beads. i just had to replace the goodyears because they were worn out. i now have a very old set of mt's that predate the km1's. lots of tread but a little checking on them. i dont know about your sensors. if you dont air down you wont go anywhere. just dig holes

Unless you have limited slip difs or lockers I would personally stay away from MTs in the sand. I have ATs and run 10-12psi at the dunes

As for your TPS sensors you'll get a light or warning until you air back up
