This is going to be a great trip!

"follow at your own risk" or "trail? What trail? We don't need no stinking trail"

I hope the weather cooperates! Was checking out info on the two campsites just before Shelter Cove, and one has 8 tent sites, picnic tables, and a BBQ pit, while the second one has 13 tent sites. Currently they say the water is down cause of frozen pipes, but I'll have that checked out when I do the dry run here soon. Hopefully, either the campsites will be big enough and vacant, lol!

are the hotel people still planning on coming to the campsite at night for, as I believe you put it, a rip roaring bonfire?

And is there still talk about a trail run on Sunday? Cause I would be down.

I can't speak for others, but I know that my wife and I will be headed for whomever can organize a campfire for the evening. It may all depend on how big the campsite is and how much fuel for the fire will be available.
Yes, there is still talk about a 3rd leg of the adventure on Sunday going up King's Peak trail and into Honeydew. That trail is similar to the Elk Mt. trails we went on, so fairly easy stuff but with awesome views and nice, cool, coastal weather!

If everyone would bring 2-3 pieces of wood we could have a nice big fire.

I have some black oak I need to split up, so I'm in for taking what I can fit.

Maybe as time gets closer, we can plan a menu and BBQ at said campfire. If everyone brings a little something we could have quite a spread!

Bob, might I suggest that on this (and future) Run Threads, the updated run date be edited into the first line of the first post so it shows up on a mouse scroll of the thread title?

A buddy and I will be doing a three or four day Dusy/Ershim trip in Sept. Dunno yet if it wil be the week ending Saturday, 9/15; or Saturday, 9/22. His job priorities will dictate which week we can go. Let me confirm our trip dates before you count me in 100% for this run. As much fun as it sounds, it might be a little much to get home, say Hi to the wife, and turn right back around heading out again. I might not be able to come back.

On another note... what's camping without a fire? (adds note to bring some wood if attending. Lemmee see--- that's beer, wood, beer, tent, beer, cooler, beer, sleeping bag, beer, food, and.....uhmmm... oh yeah, beer! Got it!)

You have to start somewhere to get to the middle of nowhere.

Thanks for the tip on that. Post #1 edited. I do realize many on the list are tentative, but just didn't feel like making a separate list for tentatives. Hope you can make it, but I'm sure Dusy/Ershim will be much more exciting than our trip. I hope to some day take that run.
