King of the hammers starts on the 6th so we should be alright. Good thing, cause it would've been embarrassing to show them up out there.

That is a good question, the panamint valley area is a ways away from there, and I know a good guide as well

According to Google Maps, they're about 20 miles apart, so I don't think it'll be part of the race course. But I was just thinking about the massive crowd that is drawn to KoH and wondering how many people will spill over into Cougar Buttes on the Saturday?

Mpond, if you want to run the EMC (every man challenge race) I'll spot for you. have you read up on it? Sounds interesting.

Chris, that would be fun but that's a ways out there just for the day. I think we need at least a weekend for that one.

I'm still Googling to try to find more info, but the 2012 KoH course map won't be released until Feb 3rd. But I found the 2010 course map, and it went all the way West to Soggy Lake, which is only 5 miles from the Cougar Buttes trailhead.

Yeah - I think my wife would $#!^ if I spent that much money to get my Jeep ready to race. I've been following the thread that the Savvy guys have following their "stock" LJ build for that race, and it sounds pretty cool.

It's two separate races, one for stockers, and one mildly built rigs.

Good thing Black0rifle didn't see it he'll try anything.

After we see the map for it well have to run the course and prepare for next years EMC.

I'm kinda thinking everyone will be focused on the king of the hammers and nobody will be at Cougar Buttes.
