Calico BLM Camping

I was thinking of going there the week after next, but the campground is full (some sort of Civil War reenactment going on). I vaguely remember flat open areas just to the east of the ghost town camping area, off the road aways, near the start of the Doran/Odessa loop. Are the dirt road’s there flat enough to safely get a large class A a mile or two away from pavement?

I believe this is BLM land, which should be legal for green sticker vehicles – right? If not, we’ll change plans and head to Stoddard Wells (which will be more noisy than I like). Our group has Jeeps and ATV's.
