Bay area meet/greet

Hey fellow jeepers. There are a few of us looking into going to Frank Raines park this Sunday, 2/12/2012. Right now I believe there is 3 of us but definitely 2. I thought I'd extend the invitation to everyone else. If you have no plans and like to go wheeling you're more than welcome to come with us.

I'm in! Please don't forget that there are trail flag rules enforced. I've never been up there but it seems that a couple of us will be going for the first time.

Don't forget the trail flag!

Well it looks like I might be able to go. The last hurdle is to see if I have sunday off. If I have sunday off I am there.

Sounds great man, I'm thinking that Chevron in Patterson would be a good meeting place around 10. But if anybody else has a better idea I'm open to suggestions

Anticanman 02-08-2012 08:31 PM

I seems that the trail flags might be for quads only. I'm bringing my compressor and deflators. And may have a couple more guys interested. They're not from the forums though...

Im not sure about the flags. This site says all 4 wheel OHV need them
http://www.riderplanet-usa.com/atv/t.../ride_8790.htm

Ill have my tow straps, jumper cables, and tool bag which has random size wrenches, big crescent wrench, big ford wrench, hammers, pry bar, assorted screw driver, and Perry cord. Ill try calling to find out for sure about flags tomorrow. Anybody think we will need anything else?

BadKarma1701 02-08-2012 09:36 PM

I watched 4x4's on youtube at this park and they did not have flags. Only the quads had flags. I wanted to know what was up so I called the county park Dist. They gave me the number to the park itself. The guy at the park said we did not need flags. Maybe its for the harder to see vehicles like quads? Please call and get the number to the park itself to confirm and let us know.
Thanks

Alright ill call tomorrow around 9 (I figured they'd be open by then) and ill post it.

I could possibly be in. It's a 2 hour drive for me, so I need to figure out if I really want to do 4 hour round trip, plus wheeling, in a day. If I do go I always carry my small tool box with me, a cooler, straps, and I have a 8000lb rated winch.
Any one know what the cost is?

Jam86 02-08-2012 10:07 PM

It says $2 a vehicle on this site.

Ill verify tomorrow with the trail flag thing.

I'll cover the entrance fee for all. :D

You will definitely need to pack a lunch and bring lots of water. I have a few MRE's in the jeep in case we run across some starving Ethiopian but they're scarce in the suburbs of Patterson. Bring some food!

If any of you guys local to Manteca want to stop by my shop Saturday afternoon I'll be going over my checklist and attempting to mount a fire extinguisher.

For those new to the area go slow on the road there. Very tight turns and sometimes other drivers speeding or bicycles everywhere.
Also if it's wet stay the hell away from any black diamonds. Start mild and work your way up, it's mostly hill climbs!! it can get sketch quick

Jam86 02-09-2012 11:10 AM

Verified by county parks and recreation no trail flags are required. In fact they didn't even know what it was...

Anticanman 02-09-2012 12:41 PM

Haha! Thanks!

BadKarma1701 02-09-2012 05:16 PM
