Has anyone done Rodriquez & Oriflamme canyons lately? I'm going to Blair Valley this weekend. I'll be the only off-roader in my camping group, so any adventures will be with a single vehicle. I don't want to tackle anything too remote. Otherwise, I'll stick with the Buttes Pass/Slot area where I know it's well traveled.

In case anyone’s interested in the area; I went up Rodriguez Canyon yesterday. It’s a scenic 1 – 2 hour drive that takes you from the low desert (a couple miles south of Blair Valley) to about 2/3 of the way up to Julian (it comes out at a tiny community named Banner). It’s really nice right now with the fresh snow here and there (none on the trail). It’s fairly easy, with two spots that would be a little challenging (but doable) for a stock vehicle. You can make a loop out of it and go down Oriflamme Canyon (which I didn’t do)
