There is a club called Wild West Off Roaders in Mtn home. Good club, family oriented. All 4x4 welcome. They meet at 7pm on the second Wednesday of each month. There is a small Mexican food place right across from Albertsons. Not at Taco John's.

You could also drop by Bowman's Transmission shop there on Air Base Road. Chris Bowman is a very active member in the club and local events.
Also in Sept is the Idaho Tuff Truck Challenge there in Mtn Home, at Optimist Park, by the cheese factory.

Clashem360-this weekend is the Northwest Motorfest in Boise at the fairgrounds. Rock crawling demos, biggest car show in the state, burnout contests, etc. You could meet lots of locals at the rock crawl demos. High Desert Off Road is hosting the demos with Cobalt Truck.
Several off road groups in the Boise area also. Not too hard to find off road things to do.
