We did the trip, but I didn't make it to Mineral as I had to run into Boise for a driveshaft that I found a torn boot on before leaving home and after 2 trail days was not trusted to last. I didn't get the Jeep ready, nor packed until 12am the day of departure. The weather here fowled up my plan to reroof my house by myself with time to spare. As it was my winch was in, but not hooked up. My co-Jeepers made it and had a great dusty time on that leg. Koodos go to Bucks 4x4 for selling me a stock take-off shaft.
Holy cow do you guys have long dirt routes to connect sites. It ate up alot of our time so we didn't get out of the Yellow Pine area for 3 days. We cut the trip short so my co-jeepers could spend Labor day weekend with family. We did 2 days on the Naches WA trails, one day thru Hells Canyon, one day for Mineral, 3 days for Yellow Pine, Cinnebar, Stibnite, Big Creek, Warren, and Loon Lake, then 1 day home. So, we basically hit 1% of what Idaho has to offer. I guess we're coming back some day.
Good thing I bought a new big tent that erects in seconds and a padded cot before departure, as this made the sleeping accomidations bearable. I should've bought a heater as it got veeeery cold all but one night. Besides that, perfect weather. We saw no bears, wolves, or sheep, just deer.
